Keep Moving Forward

The first studioalbum out of three new albums is finally here – a trilogy in the making.

Keep Moving Forward consist of 16 songs written over a nearly 20 year span, where John collaborated with various other songwriters. Four tracks are solely written by John.

UK-based producer Robbie Bronnimann has also enhanced and expanded on three of the songs, «If You Care», «Sea Of Crete» and «Warm Breath Of You».

– When I thought of making my first proper studio album it made sense to pick and choose a kind of «best of» songs, where each one could possible have been a single, like in the old days of the music industry, John says.

– Looking at the album now, it’s for me very clear to see that it in many ways this is the story of my life in these songs, from the typical insecure teenager boy to the guy in his 20s who’s trying to find his path in life, to where I am at the end of this particular journey is at the end of my 30s, and have had some years behind me, and what kind of a man I am after all that, John comments.

– Subjectwise it’s also very traditional, I’d have to admit!

– There’s infatuation, falling in and out of love, lust and desire, and even a wedding song thrown in for good measure. And then there are my takes on the Bond-title-song formula, which in my case ended up as Golden Eyes and Devil May Care.

– But there is one song where I sort of look out on the world, also written as a young man, called If You Care. This is my mothers favorite song of mine, probably because it’s very simple and melodic. I wanted to see if I could write a song with just three chords, but I had an eleborate middle eight and the producer threw in a mini bridge to the chorus!

Keep Moving Forward will be released worldwide on streaming services on Johns birthday, 26.10.2024. A limited edition CD and MC will follow mid-November 2024. These can be pre-ordered now!
